A Visitor

Janet has bird feeders on our front deck. Many small finches come in large groups to feed; however; today I noticed someone new had come to visit. Before jumping to the conclusion that this is a large dove, take another look at it's beek in the upper picture.

Why is it that cat owner always insist on putting out bird feeders? There's nothing like an enticing piece of prey outside the window to lure a persian shut-in. Dad are you sure you didn't photoshop that?

This is a small hawk. Our bird feeders are positioned so that even when the cats are on the deck the birds are safe. The cats stalk, watch, make noises and the birds just watch them and go on about their eating. But you are right - cat owner always seem to like to attract birds.
